Student podcasts are a powerful way to not only give students voice and choice, but to empower them to share new insights and ideas with a global audience. Podcasting requires inquiry, collaboration, and communication skills. I started podcasting with students when a student in the back of the room raised her hand and asked if we could try podcasting. Hence, the journey began. With every group, the experience has been unique. However, the connecting thread is the listening to our students so that they are given an opportunity to share new thinking and ideas in an authentic setting. Student growth has been unbelievable. They’ve grown in their confidence, writing skills and ability to stand up for their values and beliefs.
