Design. Drive. Do. Concepts
It’s not about the tool…the focus is on the creative and innovative method in which student voice and ideas come to life. Whether through a podcast or a sketchnote, an ebook or a graphic post, students are empowered to create unique and fresh solutions.
Students will use communication, elements of design, and problem solving to meet the needs of a sitaution. They will approach the task with uniqueness and creativity in order to create a new, different, fresh, and multisensory solution.
Students are given ongoing and multiple avenues to communicate in new and varied ways. Through their communication with varied audiences students will build confidence, foster emotional IQ, and develop leadership skills in order to be an effective and positive advocate for their ideas.
Students will utilize time to thoroughly dig deeply into ideas and issues in order to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate them to meet the goal of understanding, increased perspective, empowerment, and/or creation.
Students tackle an authentic task that has meaning, purpose, and impacts the world in a positive way. Students demonstrate initiative, confidence, drive, and productivity.
Students use systems, thinking, and mental models to reach viable solutions for multifaceted issues which will influence perspectives and actions.
Students are given tasks that have purpose and meaning within or outside the four walls of school. In addition, students use skills and resources to create an authentic product for an authentic audience.
Students collaborate and negotiate in classroom team environments to learn and grow with others outside of their school. Students contribute their personal capacity to help facilitate outcomes larger than themselves.
Students will show empathy, advocacy, and understanding for themselves and each other in ever-changing environments for the purpose of creating a better world. Students will recognize and value all human beings and their connections to the human experience.
